Backend integration required. Creating and serving short links needs the NetTools server, which isn’t deployed yet, so no request is sent and no results are invented. Use Preview with sample data to see the result layout.

Shorten a URL

Public http or https URL, up to 2,048 characters.

3–32 letters, digits, - or _. Random when empty.

The link and its destination are deleted afterwards.

Short link

Your short link will appear here.

How it works

The NetTools server stores the long URL under a short random code (or your alias) and answers requests for the short link with an HTTP redirect to the original address. Links can expire automatically.

Privacy and safety

  • No click tracking profiles: a short link only stores its destination, creation time and expiry.
  • Destinations are screened for private addresses and known abuse before a link is created.
  • Every short link expires; you choose when.

Safeguards & responsible use

  • Only public http and https URLs; private, local and credential-bearing URLs are rejected.
  • Destinations are checked against abuse and malware lists before a link is created; reported links can be disabled.
  • Per-client creation limits; no click-tracking profiles.
  • The destination is stored only as long as the link exists.

Frequently asked questions

How long do short links last?

You choose an expiry when creating the link. Expired links stop redirecting and their destination is deleted.

Can I pick my own short code?

Yes: an alias of 3–32 letters, digits, hyphens or underscores, if it is not taken.

Why might a link be refused?

Private or local addresses, URLs with embedded passwords and destinations on abuse or malware lists are refused, to keep short links safe to click.
